Deep Waters: Helping Your Child Navigate Loss

When someone close to a child dies, the child’s world can turn upside down.  Unfortunately, society doesn’t do a good job of preparing us for loss and there is no magic pill for grief. Often described as a journey that never really ends, grief can be intense and challenging for children.  This class will provide parents and caregivers with a better understanding of the complexity of children’s grief and present helpful ideas for supporting them as they navigate the deep waters of loss.  (Presenters:  Carrie Silver, PhD, and Jim Santucci)
